CTAA COACHING REQUIRMENTS
Thank you for volunteering!
Ensuring that you are ready to coach is as easy as 1-2-3.
1. FINGERPRINTING/ BACKGROUND CHECK-
- All new volunteers must be fingerprinted prior to coaching.
- This needs to be completed as soon as possible.
- The fingerprinting process instructions can be found by visiting the CTAA’s home page. Find the “Training Tab.”
- For a direct link visit: http://ctaasports.org/Page.asp?n=90593&org=CTAASPORTS.ORG
- All repeat volunteers, i.e., those who have been fingerprinted in the past for CTAA coaching, must undergo an annual name check.
- We will work with the town to see who needs to have this done and will let everyone know their status once complete. In the event you need to complete a name check, we will provide you with the required form.
2. THE RUTGERS S.A.F.E.T.Y. CLINIC (SPORTS AWARENESS FOR EDUCATING TODAY'S YOUTH)
- All coaches must complete this class one time to obtain permanent registration with the Youth Sports Research Council.
- If you’ve already taken the course and filed your certification card with the CTAA, you’re done with this requirement.
- If you have not taken the course and/or filed your certification card with the CTAA, you need to do so.
- Upcoming sessions can be found at https://www.youthsports.rutgers.edu/educational-courses/schedule
- The NBIAA (Northern Burlington Instructional Athletic Association) does hold a seasonal class locally. Once this class is set we will notify you asap.
- PLEASE NOTE: YOU MUST REMAIN FOR THE ENTIRE 3 HOURS IN ORDER TO RECEIVE CREDIT FOR THIS CLASS.
- Once you have completed the course, you need to file your certification card with the CTAA. It is preferred that a digital copy be uploaded and attached to your profile in order to maintain accurate records-https://leagueathletics.com/Registration/Restrictions.asp?RegID=92363&n=56989&org=CTAA, but if for some reason you are unable to upload a digital copy, you can make arrangements to give a hard copy to a CTAA member.
3. ONLINE CONCUSSION TRAINING COURSE
- Taking this course is a one-time mandatory requirement.
